Born in Poland, and raised in Germany, Sylvia found her passion for languages and cultures. She is fluent in Polish, German, and English with a school knowledge of Latin and French. Being a spouse of a retired U.S. Army soldier, Sylvia has experienced many moves, both stateside and international. She understands the challenges of packing up one’s entire life from one place to another. In support of the Armed Forces and their families, she has made smooth and stress-free transitions her first priority while working for the U.S. Army Housing Office in Germany. It was the military that sent her and her family to Hawaii.

Today, Sylvia, her husband, their two children, and two cats, call Ewa Beach their home. Her sense of community remains strong through her volunteerism at James Campbell High School and local military spouses’ groups here on the island. In her spare time, you can find Sylvia cooking, reading, organizing, drawing, dabbling in photography, and partaking in numerous outdoor activities.
