About Carla

Born and rasied in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, Carla graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Linguistics with a focus on American Sign Language. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Put-in-Bay, Ohio, where she opened a bed & breakfast, gift shop, and boat storage facility. 

Upon selling the businesses, Carla moved to Florida where she immediately earned her real estate salesperson and broker's licenses. She spent the first 8 years of her career in new construction home sales, assisting the builder with take-offs, warranty, customer service, sales, and design selection. 

Carla's passion for life and adventure got her involved in global real estate in 2005 which led her to travel extensively to Europe and Central America.  She served as the National Association of REALTORS(R) Global Coordinator to North America, Central America, & the Caribbean from 2016-2020.  Prior to holding this position, she was the NAR's President Liaison to Panama.  She most recently served as the President for FIABCI-USA 2023-2024. 

Carla is a licensed instructor for the National Association of REALTORS(R) & Florida REALTORS(R).  She has instructor licenses in Florida & Texas.  In 2020 she was awarded CIPS Instructor of the Year by the National Association of REALTORS(R). She is active in her local, state, and national associations and earned Sarasota association's first Global Commitment award in 2022.  Carla was also named REALTOR(R) of the Year and achived the President's Award twice from the Sarasota Association of REALTORS(R). 

Describing herself as a globalist, explorist, and discoverist, Carla loves to travel, meet interesting people, try new cuisines, & experiment with adventure.  She loves socializing with her friends, cooking & entertaining, & spending time with her husband and Havanese.
