She is  a past member of the Glen Ellyn Kiwanis, and continues to volunteer in the community. Kathy Slovick has won several awards for her achievements including the Kit Phau voting rights award, the Glen Ellyn League of Women Voters Phyllis Renfro Award , and Citizen Advocacy's Citizen's initiative Award. Kathy serves the Glen Ellyn community as a Library Trustee. 

With a passion for advocacy, Kathy has written a book about championing the rights of the disabled.
